Melanie Griffith

Melanie Griffith is a skilled healthcare professional and a valued member of the Carolina Hormone and Health Center team. Originally born in Fayetteville, North Carolina, she primarily grew up in Spartanburg, SC, where she later graduated from Dorman High School, coincidentally alongside Michael Lord. In 2015, Melanie made a significant move, relocating to Charleston from Destin, Florida, while her parents had already settled in Charleston back in 1994, where they still reside.

Melanie is a dedicated mother to her two daughters, Soleil and Selina. Soleil showcases her acrobatic talents as part of Emmanuel College’s acrobat team, while Selina attends Crown Leadership Academy in Mount Pleasant, actively participating in cheering and basketball. Sharing her life with her significant other, Joey, who also hails from Spartanburg, they together care for two beloved feline companions, Sir Purr and Smore.

Her journey into the healthcare profession was sparked by a life-changing event. In 1991, while preparing for a cheerleading partner stunt competition, Melanie suffered a knee injury that necessitated surgery, rest, and rehabilitation. During her recovery, she underwent a transformational experience, gaining a newfound appreciation and respect for healthcare workers. This awakening led her to pursue nursing at Clemson after transferring from Oral Roberts University, where she majored in Spanish and Communications for three years.

Melanie’s career in nursing has been diverse, with early experiences in Cardiac and Women’s Health, as well as serving as a Clinical Instructor for Gardner Webb University. However, it was her time spent in the operating room suite that introduced her to the joy of cosmetic surgery and esthetic procedures, igniting a passion for helping others look and feel their best. Melanie’s personal experience as both an employee and patient in the healthcare system inspired her to explore the provider side of things further, leading her to receive training in neurotoxin and lip filler procedures.

Beyond her professional endeavors, Melanie’s love for fitness is evident, as she became a certified group fitness instructor and personal trainer in 1991. She has been teaching body pump and spinning classes regularly at various gyms, nurturing her passion for physical well-being.

In her leisure time, Melanie enjoys engaging in hobbies like pickleball, working out, and cherishing moments with Joey and her family. The opportunity to enhance all facets of someone’s life, be it physical, mental, or spiritual, is a true blessing for Melanie, and she feels grateful to be part of a profession that allows her to make a positive impact.

With an impressive educational background, including a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Clemson University and an MSN/FNP from Carson Newman University, Melanie’s expertise and dedication to her field are evident. She officially joined the Plastic Surgery field in 2003, contributing her skills and knowledge to provide exceptional care and services to her patients.

During the ’90s, Melanie was a proud member of the Carolina Panthers Cheerleading team and participated as a Rally Cat at Clemson. Her commitment to health and fitness has been consistent, fostering her passion for helping individuals not only enhance their physical appearance but also nurture their overall well-being, encompassing body, mind, and spirit. As of 2023, she has been a valuable addition to the Carolina Hormone and Health Center, where she continues to practice her genuine passion for transforming lives through her expertise and care.
