IPL (Intensive Pulse Light) Photo Rejuvenation is the workhorse of lasers. IPL targets many skin problems such as rosacea, broken capillaries, sun spots or age spots, uneven skin tone, acne, and other signs of aging. IPL is non-ablative, which means that there is no downtime.
Treatment takes about 45 minutes, depending on the area. IPL is excellent for the face, chest, neck, hands, arms, and legs. IPL delivers high-intensity pulses of broadband light, which makes this laser very skin-friendly. The intense pulsed light source not only works on the skin’s surface but also targets damage deeper in the layers of the skin.
During your IPL treatment, you will wear goggles for eye protection. You can expect to still see the flash of light from the IPL device, similar to seeing lightning with your blinds closed.
Unlike laser treatments that use a single wavelength of light, IPL emits multiple wavelengths, allowing it to penetrate different layers of the skin to address pigmentation, redness, and fine lines.
During an IPL session, pulses of light are delivered to the skin, where they are absorbed by melanin and hemoglobin. This process breaks down dark spots, reduces redness, and stimulates collagen production for smoother, healthier-looking skin. Over time, the body naturally eliminates the treated pigment and damaged vessels, revealing a more even complexion.
IPL therapy is a non-invasive, minimal-downtime procedure that effectively treats sun damage, age spots, rosacea, and uneven skin tone. With a series of treatments, IPL helps restore youthful, radiant skin without surgery or extensive recovery.
*IPL treatments cannot be performed with a self-tanner or a sun tan since the machine will not know the difference between brown spots & your skin.
